It was 2016 and it was time to go for it. Now or never. I quite the 9-5 job, had signed off on my Creative Writing Masters and my wife was up for an adventure….

We put our wordly belongings in storage, and squeezed (i’m 6ft 4) into our blinding white VW camper “Van Helsing.” While staying in Seville for a couple of months, i wrote a new Young Adult novel that would become Orca Rising. It got me an agent, and a publishing deal. Orca Rising went on to be a finalist for the 2018 People’s Book Prize (it didn’t win – that would have been TOO much!)

We found somewhere we liked, ditched the campervan and live on the Andalusian near the sugar cube town of Salobreña, with views of the snowy Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean. The perfect writing retreat was now my home. It was time to get to work. Orca Rogue Agent followed in 2019, and my first adult book, the psychological Crime Thriller ‘Dark Vet’ is slated for release in February. Orca book 3, The Divinity Fix will follow in 2021.

When i’m not writing i’m tending to our 50 fruit trees, vegetable patch, chickens, dog and look after our book obsessed son, Toby.
